Characteristics For surface hardening; tool steel with good machinability and low distortion, high resistance to wear, and low polishability requirement.

Plastic Mould Steel Thruhard Supreme® 2738mod.TS(HH)

Characteristics Recently developed plastic mould steel, distinguished from grades 2311 and 2738 by: l Higher hardness and better through-hardenability l Polishability up to 600 grit (high gloss ? nish reliability on request) l Grain reliability even with sensitive etch-graining designs l Improved weldability l Higher thermal conductivity. Nitridable, hard chrome plateable, ? ame hardenable as delivered; its higher basic hardness provides better support for surface ? nishing (such as PVD coating).

Plastic Mould Steel 2311 ISO-BM

Characteristics Standard mould steel, economical to machine, easy to polish, hard chrome plateable, grain reliable, for dimensions 400 mm thick. Where there is a requirement for l Higher hardness and better through-hardenability l Polishability > 320 grit l Sensitive etch designs (e.g. HNO3) l Higher thermal conductivity we recommend grade 2738mod.TS(HH).

Plastic Mould Steel 2312
